The Ask
Kafsis Ltd is a leading waste management company based in Greece with service locations that span across the globe. Their experience and continuous investment in technology and infrastructure, have enabled Kafsis to provide comprehensive and innovative waste management solutions while maintaining their standard to be stewards for a safe and clean environment.
The Challenge
Backbone was appointed to redesign Kafsis’ website with the intent to increase their clients' engagement while effectively expressing their values and business model. Initially, the website structure was unclear, the user experience was non responsive and the visuals were uninspiring. The critical absence of clear call-to-action was inhibiting Kafsis from leveraging their web presence to adequately engage customers, generate new business opportunities and differentiate themselves amongst their competitors.
The Solution
By understanding Kafsis’ unique challenges, the team was poised to deliver a set of specific business outcomes – one of which included the transformation of the old corporate website into a relevant business tool. The new site design included a powerful digital experience, incorporating current content and self-service capabilities that targeted specific users.
Overhauling the site map and user experience was essential in providing the specific user groups easy access to the information available. New online forms were created to enable farmers, for example, to register their animal by-product waste and specify their requirements directly with Kafsis. Once the farmer completed the online form, a company representative would follow up and convert the lead into a potential customer for Kafsis.
The Outcome
The online forms functionality was improved, allowing site visitors to support and donate to listed funds that Kafsis has committed to, for example, increasing public awareness and monetary efforts directed to global reforestation. This collective approach allowed Kafsis to gain profit from its reinvigorated web presence while bringing them closer to their vision of a safe and clean environment.
